D.R. Students Visiting This Summer!

History

For almost a decade, our partnership with elders Alvaro Rodríguez (from Perú) and Jeremías Collado (from the D.R.) from Iglesia Cristiana Oasis (Oasis Church) has grown as they have welcomed us to serve alongside them at Oasis Church, Oasis Christian School, and the Santiago Theological Seminary. Our gospel partners in Santiago, Dominican Republic have continued in their mission to share Christ’s love to the nearby under-served communities, to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ in their church and beyond, and to enjoy God’s goodness.

Opportunity for us this Summer!

This July, we get to welcome 27 graduating seniors and 5 chaperones into our homes and lives from Oasis Christian School for their senior trip! We will explore the D.C. area and come alongside Oasis Church in the evangelization and discipleship of these teenagers.

For this, we need 15 homes to host two or more of our visitors from the afternoon of Saturday, July 1, to the afternoon of Sunday, July 9. Host families will be asked to:

  • Drop off and pick up students at the church building for the various activities of the day
  • Provide a light breakfast most days
  • Encouraged to participate throughout the week as able

If you have any questions or are interested in this opportunity, please contact Stephanie for more information.

Prayer Requests

  • Please pray for the Lord to continue to provide creative avenues and wisdom to the leaders of this seminary for more pastors, church leaders, and laymen to be equipped with the Word of God to reach Santiago and beyond.
  • Please pray for strategic partnerships and financial stability for this seminary as well. Thank you for your financial giving which allows us to give to this seminary.
  • Please pray for the seminary’s Executive Director, Alvaro, and his wife, Rosana’s trip to Fairfax! They will be with us Sunday, May 7th where Alvaro will guest preach for us.

Another way we can partner with these dear brothers and sisters is to send them notes of encouragement! Feel free to send a quick email letting them know we are praying for them and are grateful for this partnership in the gospel! (They all speak English)

¡Gracias!
