Mark has been the Teaching Pastor at Redeeming Grace Church since 1999. He is responsible for setting the Sunday morning preaching schedule and delivers most of the messages throughout the year. Mark also regularly teaches Sunday School classes and travels extensively to teach pastors abroad, including in Bolivia, Burma, Cuba, India, and Mexico. In addition, for 15 years, Mark taught at the Pastors College in Gaithersburg, MD.
Prior to coming to Redeeming Grace Church, Mark was the Senior Pastor at Sovereign Grace Church in Pasadena, CA.
Mark has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Forestry from Humboldt State University, which is north of San Francisco. During college, he spent one semester studying in Paris. Mark also has a Masters of Divinity Degree from Fuller Seminary.
He is delighted to have been married to his partner and friend, Lesley, since 1982. They have four children, two married, spread out across four states: Peter in Colorado, Colin and Amanda in California, Will and Sara in New York, and Kate in Virginia.
In addition to working with wood, Mark loves hiking and running, watching Washington Nationals baseball, reading good novels, and playing golf.
