Day 1- Foundation of Love

Bible Lesson

Optional pre-Bible lesson activity:

1. Explain that as members of the Concrete & Cranes building crew, kids need to undergo a quick “equipment proficiency test.”
2. Show kids several photos of different types of tools (boom lift, sledgehammer, arc welder, drywall stilts, angle grinder, concrete mixer, skid steer loader, compactor). Direct kids to identify the tool that would best help with the following jobs:
  • Paint a nine-foot indoor ceiling (drywall stilts)
  • Pour a sidewalk (concrete mixer)
  • Install a window on the fifth floor (boom lift)
  • Break down a thick concrete wall (sledgehammer)
  • Dig a large hole and haul away the dirt (skid steer loader)
  • Melt and fasten two pieces of steel (arc welder)
  • Pack gravel into place (compactor)
  • Cut a thick piece of tile (angle grinder)
3. Say: “Choosing the right tool for the job is important. In today’s story, you’ll hear how Jesus chose just the right person to follow Him.”
