1. 1. Created in God's Image

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. (Genesis 1:27)

 

1. 2. Fearfully and Wonderfully Made

For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance, in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there were none of them. (Psalm 139:13-16)

 

1. 3. God Ordains Authority

For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, for he is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger, who carries out God’s wrath on the wrongdoer. (Romans 13:3-4)

 

1. 4. God's Command

You shall not murder. (Exodus 20:13)

Rescue those who are being taken away to death; hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter. (Proverbs 24:11)

But the midwives feared God and did not do as the king of Egypt commanded them, but let the male children live. (Exodus 1:17)

 

3. Transparency

And the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was given to him (Jesus). He unrolled the scroll and found the place where it was written, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim the good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” (Luke 4:17-19)
