RGCC StaffVolunteer Spotlight (820 × 312 px) (6)

At Redeeming Grace Church, we believe the church is not a building, it’s people serving together to glorify God. We regularly highlight a volunteer or staff member who serves with RGC because they make everything we do possible!

Today, we want to introduce you to Grace Chung, who serves on our Projection Team and helps prepare our our member lunches! Here's what a fellow sister in the church had to say:

Grace is a faithful member of the projection team, always serving joyfully. She is thorough, thoughtful, and rolls with day-of changes with grace. I'm grateful to be a member alongside her, and also to serve alongside her!

What volunteer roles are you involved in within RGC?

I run projection slides about once a month for our Sunday morning services and on occasion will run projection for member meetings. I'm also currently signed up to help prepare food for lunches held prior to member meetings.

How did God lead you to be involved in those areas?

When I was being interviewed for membership, I received a slip of paper with the different volunteer opportunities available. I saw that projection was listed as one of the options, checked it off, and was contacted by Jonathan Luo shortly after! I wanted to serve in a way that enabled me to still engage with worship and the sermon, which projection allows me to do.

How have you seen God at work in our church community?

I've seen God at work in our church community when I've seen people use their God-given gifts to serve RGC! Some serve in more visible ways, like those who help lead our congregation in worship, while others serve in ways we can appreciate through our taste buds, from the people who help prepare food for church lunches to even the high school student in my community group who always bakes something unique and delicious for our CG to enjoy when meeting. I also can see God working through our leaders when they seek feedback through online surveys and the Q&A portion of member meetings. It takes humility and a willingness to be vulnerable to do so, and I can see Christ's character on display when they patiently answer questions and explain decisions.

Can you tell us some interesting facts about you?

I'm the only member of my family who attends RGC. The rest of my family attends Korean Central Presbyterian Church, which is the church I attended while growing up. In terms of my hobbies, I began doing hot yoga towards the end of 2022 and started indoor bouldering this past summer. I have brought most of my friends in the area to the climbing gym because I am hoping one of them gets into bouldering as well, but I still have a conversion rate of 0%, so if you would ever like to give it a try, please let me know!
