Thanksgiving in an American Home Testimony: Emmanuel Enietan

After various failed attempts, Emmanuel made it to the United States to begin his graduate studies at George Mason University. In his English class, the professor shared about an opportunity to spend Thanksgiving with an American family. Here’s his story:

Hello,

My name is Emmanuel Enietan.

Just one Thanksgiving with the Uribes’ completely re-routed my life from loneliness, no direction, and lack of peace, happiness, and progressive fulfillment. I count God’s blessings in my life and count my encounter with the Uribes’ twice.

I came to America alone. I had no one to call family, to put me through and give me a good head start here until the Uribes’ decided to host me during their Thanksgiving celebration in 2018. This simple act of kindness has birthed several other relationships both in Redeeming Grace Church and in the community that I will cherish forever.

I sincerely hope God uses more families to bring this kind of joy, I now experience, to students who are in similar situation as I was before.

Would you consider adding two or more plates to your Thanksgiving dinner to open your home for international students from George Mason University?

Thank you for prayerfully considering extending hospitality this holiday season so that others may come to know the hospitality we have graciously received from God.
