RGCC StaffVolunteer Spotlight (2000 × 500 px) (820 × 312 px) (1)

At Redeeming Grace Church, we believe the church is not a building, it’s people serving together to glorify God. We regularly highlight a volunteer or staff member who serves with RGC because they make everything we do possible!

Today we want to introduce you to Cathy Graham!

Here's what one of our ministry leaders had to say about them:

I am very grateful for Cathy Graham. She is a woman of God, who pursues and practices biblical greatness as defined by Jesus in Mark 10. “But whoever would be great among you must be your servant…For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” From the day Cathy entered the doors of Redeeming Grace she has been serving. She immediately joined the greeting team, welcoming newcomers on Sunday mornings! She has become a shining member of this faithful team, welcoming and helping guests to get connected in our church family. She is truly the front line of grace in our Sunday meeting. I rarely have a conversation with Cathy in which I am not encouraged personally! We are very blessed to call her a family member!

What volunteer roles are you involved in within RGC?

I serve on the greeting team in the foyer.

How did God lead you to be involved in those areas?

I've served in all my churches in this capacity. God has given me a heart to be friendly and welcoming; to show hospitality to new people. It helps that I am from Texas where the culture is very friendly, and strangers often talk to one another.

How have you seen God at work in our church community?

I see God at work at RGC by how well the members love. This is the most important thing for our witness (John 13:35). Humility is also a sign of the Lord's clear work, which I see by how transparent and teachable RGC members and leaders are.

The expositional, rich sermons are signs of God helping our diligent preachers study hard and handle His Word correctly.

I have only been at the church for a couple of years, but have already been the recipient of a lot of service. The saints are caring and selfless.

It is also very encouraging to receive a handwritten note in the mail after I send in prayer requests.

One sweet blessing of RGC is how safe a place it is for my mom. RGC is the only place we go where I am comfortable letting her be independent and not by my side at all times. (However, if you see her outside by herself, will you please stay with her until someone finds me?)

Could you tell us some interesting facts about you?

My job is as an executive assistant in a political nonprofit, but since God has sanctified me in the area of politics, this does not mean I like to discuss politics. 🙂 In addition to that role, I am the birthday messenger for the office.

Celebrations are my forte.  I love hosting and personalizing small events for loved ones.

I am happiest outdoors, especially if there are flowers and gardens nearby, as well as a Christian sister and gourmet food.

My family is tiny. I seldom am in touch with any of my few relatives except my mom (whom I care for since she has Alzheimer's) and one of my brothers (who is in prison, but I'd love to tell you of God's transforming power in his life). I look to my church family primarily for relationships. God has shown me that being alone is better (though not what I would choose) to help me recognize that He is my provider, companion, etc. instead of expecting humans to fill me.

Thank you for taking time to read about me. 💓
