Website Servant Spotlight - Flowers

At Redeeming Grace Church, we believe the church is not a building, it’s people serving together to glorify God. We regularly highlight a volunteer or staff member who serves with RGC because they make everything we do possible!

Today we want to introduce you to Jack and Anna Claire Flowers (affectionately called "AC" by the girls in her discipleship group) who serve in Five15 Youth Ministry as group leaders. Here's what students in the youth ministry have to say:

"AC is one of the biggest female role models in my life. When I think of what I want to be like when I grow up, I think of her. She’s so fun and outgoing, but most importantly loves the Lord. I am so incredibly blessed to have her in my life. I love the great advice she gives me when I’m ranting to her about boys or just life in general. I can speak on behalf of all the high school girls in Five15 when I say that we love how she cares for others and her willingness to give up her Sundays, a week for summer camp, and a weekend for winter camp to be involved in our lives. If you haven’t gotten to know AC, I suggest you do. Words cannot describe how thankful I am for her."

~ Eva Schaaf, Student in Five15

"This past year it has been a blessing to have Jack as my Five15 group leader. Not only does he lead us in applying God’s Word through group discussions, but he is also eager to know what’s going on in our lives and gives us guidance accordingly. Thank you, Jack, for all the time you have put into Five15!"

~Desmond Falke, Student in Five15

What volunteer roles are you involved in?

We both served with Five15 this past year and led 9th and 10th grade girls and guys groups along with some great co-leaders. We are passionate about equipping the teens at RGC with tools for engaging in ministry in their schools, sports teams, and other activities! We are so excited to be serving again this coming year!

Jack enjoys planning games for Five15 meetings, and Anna Claire loves being a group leader at Crossings summer camp. We also serve with Sanctity of Life Ministries, and you might see Anna Claire on stage giving the announcements during a Sunday service.

How did God lead you to be involved in those areas?

When we joined the church, we began looking for opportunities to serve in ways that aligned with the gifts God has given us. We have both been blessed to have mentors in our lives who helped us navigate middle and high school! They showed us that a relationship with God is the most life-giving and fun adventure of life.

At Five15, we spend a few hours each week playing games and getting to know each other, sharing a meal together, and diving into God's Word in small groups. While our roles include facilitating this Bible study discussion, we are often blown away at the insights and curiosity of the teens, which really enrich the small group time. By being present and available in these students' lives, we hope to encourage them in their walk with God and simply be friends who can point them to truth.

How have you seen God at work in our church community?

We have seen God at work in our church community through the people he has given us to lead and care for us. When we moved here from Alabama in 2022, we knew that we needed a "family" in this area and people in our life who could guide and challenge us. God has abundantly provided through Community Group, Five15, and relationships with RGC staff and elders.

Could you tell us some interesting facts about you?

Jack's favorite fun fact is he is one day older than Google. We both grew up in Fairhope, Alabama, which is becoming a popular vacation spot on the Gulf Coast. This means our favorite activities include anything water-related, like going to the beach, swimming, and water skiing! We also like playing tennis (and pickleball), and traveling to watch each of the Grand Slam tournaments is on our bucket list. We checked one off at Wimbledon in 2023.
