At Redeeming Grace Church, we believe the church is not a building, it’s people serving together to glorify God. Every month, we highlight volunteers or staff members who serve with RGC because they make everything we do possible!

Today we want to introduce you to Ryan and Larissa McCabe!

How have you seen God at work in our church community?

Ryan: I see a church exploding with potential to reach across generational lines to raise up disciples both young and old as people of all ages come through the doors and decide to surrender themselves to our King, from legacy RGC families to visitors alike. RCG is swarming with little humans and we have the duty and joy to love and equip them to engage the troubled world around us so that they would live differently and point others to the One who is redeeming all things to himself.

Larissa: God has definitely been at work when we host events or when members bring friends along to church. I’ve heard from/met people who have been invited to RGC and stayed! Its so exciting to see new members being voted in on a regular basis and the continuation of friendships being built and going deeper.

What volunteer roles are you involved in within RGC?

Ryan: Community Group (CG) Leaders, Men's Ministry Team, Security Team

Larissa: Grace Kids, Leading Community Group with Ryan, and Women's Ministry - Lesley Mullery and I are leading a weekday women’s bible study and would love for you to join us!

How did God lead you to be involved in those areas?

Ryan: Edward volunteered me for the security team. My name was mentioned in Men's Ministry discussions so I was recruited for that too. Larissa and I felt prepared to help lead our CG, and after much prayer and discussion the Pearson's passed the baton to us as CG leaders.

Larissa: I’ve always loved working with kids and have volunteered in children's ministry ever since becoming a believer. Years ago, Kailea Hunt poured into me as a new mom and wife. Now that my kids are a little older, I hope to do the same with other women through the Women’s Ministry.

Could you tell us some interesting facts about you?

Ryan: My favorite animal is a dog, I believe God programmed so much of himself and his desire for us into their being. My boys Jack and Owen's toes are carbon copies of mine and Larissa is so weirded out by them. I've eaten oatmeal just about every day over the last 20 years. During the pandemic I began fermenting my oats and at home they're known as “stinky oats”. Larissa and the boys are not fans; I couldn't be happier about it. Stinky oats, black coffee, and 100% dark chocolate are my favorite foods.

Larissa: I have been a stay at home mom for the past five years! Our boys (Jack 6, Owen 3) will be in school full time in September and I hope to get back into my old hobbies of drawing, jiu-jitsu and gardening. I love dessert and Ryan is convinced I have a tapeworm because I’m always hungry.
