RGCC StaffVolunteer Spotlight (1056 × 816 px) (820 × 312 px) (1800 × 500 px) (4)

At Redeeming Grace Church, we believe the church is not a building, it’s people serving together to glorify God. Every month, we will highlight a volunteer or staff member who serves with RGC because they make everything we do possible!

Today we want to introduce you to John Peiffer!

How have you been blessed by our church community?

Through the preaching and worship (including worship nights): these are what we looked for when we joined RGC and we have been consistently blessed through them during the last 38 years. Through Community Group, Men’s Breakfasts, RGCU, and corporate meals: I have grown in relationship with God by going deeper in His Word and applying it to my life, and I have grown in relationships with others by discussing what God is doing in our lives.

What volunteer roles are you involved in within RGC?

GriefShare Program Director/Discussion Group Facilitator and Christianity Explored Assistant Discussion Leader

How did God lead you to be involved in those areas?

For GriefShare, a desire to help people find God’s comfort during a season of grieving. For Christianity Explored, a desire to help others know Jesus from the book of Mark and understand that they could form a relationship with Him.

Could you tell us some interesting facts about you? (ex. hobbies, interesting facts, family, etc.)

I've been married for 38 years to Doreen. We raised four boys in this church. Chris is single and attends RGC. Shawn is married to Ana, who was born in China. They met in Korea and have a daughter, Wilhelmina. Aaron is single and lives in Vermont. Mark is newly wed to Grace and they live in West Virginia. I now care for our two cats: Angel who was brought home by our sons, and Koko who we brought home from Korea. I enjoy reading history books, taking day hikes with Doreen, listening to Christian music, sightseeing, and taking mountain or beach trips. I just bought a bicycle. Ask me how it is going or sympathize with me if you see me injured!
